What is Data Linkage and Utilization Promotion Project?

Road to SMART TOKYO, Transforming Everyday Life with Data Connection

To realize “Smart Tokyo” where Tokyo residents enjoy a quality of life, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the urban implementation of services using data and advanced technology. To date, we have worked to promote Smart City, such as by building urban operating systems, in areas such as central Tokyo and Nishi-Shinjuku. In order to spread the results of these efforts throughout Tokyo, we have been implementing the “Tokyo Metropolitan Data Linkage and Utilization Promotion Project” since FY 2023.

This project supports the creation of new services by utilizing and linking various types of data in various areas of Tokyo, and promotes “Smart Tokyo” by solving problems in each area. To date, we have worked on promoting tourism and excursions, eliminating congestion and disaster prevention, utilizing spatial data, and visualizing medical resources. In fiscal 2024 and beyond, we aim to build services through the accumulation and utilization of data that will contribute to solving problems in various areas of Tokyo.
